Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Shoreditch Nails, from the way we run our studios and academy to our growing polish collection.
OUR STUDIOS
Our ambition was to change the way nail studios cared for their teams. We promote a healthy working culture and a strong training program with a wellness policy at its core. As we grow, we continue to deliver and strengthen this philosophy.
Our focus on wellness extends beyond simply our team. We ensure we use products from local, ethical businesses like Haeckels, Montamonta, Arganic and The GelBottle Inc™. Not only are these products better for you, they are better for the planet too.
We are also committed to reducing and offsetting the waste we create in our studios. We have partnered with Handle to recycle the waste from the products we use. Handle collect used and empty beauty packaging and prepare them for onward recycling or to create their own products and accessories.
We recycle all beauty products that are eligible for Handle’s scheme and encourage clients to bring in their own beauty products - we have a Handle bin in our studio where you can drop off your products!
OUR ACADEMY
As an alternative to traditional training institutions, our modern approach prioritises natural nail care and sustainability. We pass on our knowledge to our students on how we run a responsible business and how they might be able to incorporate that into their future careers in the industry.
We have carefully selected products that are vegan, cruelty free and as natural as possible. Brands that we teach with are the same as we use in our studios which include The GelBottle Inc™, Haeckels and Montamonta.
We also encourage students from our Academy to join our team and provide a holistic approach to on the job training through our Graduate Scheme so they feel supported as they progress in their nail careers.
OUR polish
Shoreditch Nails does not claim to be a wholly sustainable brand (yet!), but we do want to make choices, big and small, to ensure we are the most responsible version of ourselves. This is why our polish formula is vegan, cruelty-free, 21-free and bottled in the U.K. Our pro-ecology polish is 81% bio-sourced and formulated from 74% natural origin ingredients, like wheat, corn and sugarcane! These greener and cleaner processes make our polish a low-chemical cosmetic without compromising the colour. A
We’ve also teamed up with leading, green transparency tech company, Provenance, to give you an insight into our production - from formulation to bottling up.
Provenance supports our sustainability claims by backing them with supply chain and third party verification, or Proof Points. Proof Points are a collection of 125+ jargon-free claims on everything from a business’ social responsibility to their environmental impact.
